BEHIND THE ART

Pier 41 is the first swim of the year each January. As it's usually the coldest time of year, this swim is also the shortest at one mile. The lettering style for this poster reflects the chilly winter water tempertures which have dipped into the upper 40's (°F) in years past yet fail to deter our hardy swimmers. The Dolphin Swimming & Boating Club, in San Francisco since 1877.
