Official Dolphin Club poster for the annual Gashouse Cove swim event— a one-mile swim from Gashouse cove to Aquatic Park at Fisherman's Wharf. The image is based on a Sgt Fury comic book splash panel from the mid-1960s. Original Dick Ayers art (Tartaglione inks) with the foreground characters showing my favorite Kirby hands effect where the hands alone form a pattern of action in the scene. The Dolphin Swimming & Boating Club, in San Francisco since 1877.
