BEHIND THE ART

This is the original and first Dolphin Club poster created by Kent Myers in 2009. Only a handful of these rare limited edition prints remain. The poster commemorates the Bay Bridge swim—a 2.5 mile swim from underneath the bridge back to the Dolphin Club. In spite of the length, the swim is typically quite fast as the outgoing ebb current is both strong and usually direct. The swim affords a tremendous view of entire historic Barbary Coast of San Francisco, as long as you breathe on your left side. The Dolphin Swimming & Boating Club, in San Francisco since 1877.
